Brainspotting — Releasing Trauma at Its Root

Brainspotting is a somatic, brain-based therapeutic approach that helps release trauma and unresolved experiences stored deep within the brain and body. This simple yet profoundly effective method uses focused eye gaze and mindfulness to access and process emotional or physiological stress at its root.

The Science Behind Brainspotting

This modality is based on the principle that where you look affects how you feel. Within our visual field, certain points correspond to stored memories of trauma or negative experiences in the brain and body. By identifying and working with these points, Brainspotting helps locate and unlock these stored experiences, allowing the nervous system to release and heal naturally.

How Brainspotting Works on a Neurological Level

The power of Brainspotting lies in its ability to access the subcortical regions of the brain—where trauma, emotional pain, and unconscious patterns are held—enabling deep processing and integration of what was previously stuck. By reaching this most ancient part of the brain, Brainspotting facilitates healing beyond cognitive understanding, addressing the core of deep-seated conditioning.

What to Expect in a Session

Brainspotting is accessible to anyone. In a session, we first identify the area in your field of vision that holds the strongest activation. With the practitioner’s support, you maintain your gaze on this point while observing what arises within. This process allows the brain to locate unresolved experiences and gently unwind them until they reach a point of resolution.

Beyond Trauma Healing: Strengthening Resilience and Well-Being

Beyond trauma healing, Brainspotting also expands internal resources within the brain and body. It strengthens resilience, enhances emotional harmony, and restores overall well-being—bringing the brain and body back into balance.

Once I realized that the human system is so vast as to be unknowable, I surrendered to it and that surrender was not a defeat it was a liberation. — David Grand
